This is not a racing axe. It is rather an elegant beauty that turns heads of racers-by. It loves being taken out for a Sunday sunset paddle when the light is perfect for its details to show off. In its spare time it enjoys being admired as a piece of art on your wall and a reminder that just about any day can be a Sunday.

Lakelike wooden paddles are not to be compared to the »fastest« carbon paddles. They fall into a different category. Which doesn’t mean they don’t perform well. They are light and feel comfortable in your hands, perfect for touring paddling. Their durability and performance are being tested in the harshest conditions on the Lake Ontario, Canada, and Premantura, Croatia, where even Sundays can get pretty ruff sometime.

From my experience as a sup-tour guide and explorer, Lakelike wooden paddles have proved awesome as touring paddles where comfort wins over speed. I bit thicker, smooth wooden shaft doesn’t give me blisters as opposed to a thinner carbon shaft.

 

NATURALLY BEAUTIFUL

Nature doesn’t make replicas. Therefore, each Lakelike wooden sup paddle is unique in many aspects. Firstly, each paddle comes in its unique pattern and shades of wood. A contrasting combination of bright paulownia and darker western red cedar colours which can vary from light, honey-colour tones to dark reddish brown. But a closer look reveals much more, at the right angle and light you will discover the hidden details in the grain texture. As wood is the work of nature – perfectly imperfect and mysterious – it will amaze you time after time.

And finally, each paddle is 100% shaped by hand. Even though it might look perfect, it is not machine-made perfect. It is unique.

 

PERSONALISED?

Each Lakelike wooden sup paddle comes with a laser-engraved logo, discretely positioned at the side of the shaft, below the handle, so it doesn’t spoil the wood texture on the blade. As an extra you can add your name or signature on the opposing side of the shaft. If you choose this option, please contact me about your preference.

 

UNIQUE GIFT

A personalised wooden paddle is an awesome gift for any paddler. To enable them to choose the right paddle, custom-made to their wishes, you can purchase a laser-engraved and personalised wooden gift voucher. It is made from an actual blade cut-off and can be handed out as an eye-catching present.

 

ORDERS AND DELIVERY

Please consider that paddles are hand-crafted by me only, so it takes its time. Also, the process involves steps that can’t be rushed, such as glueing and laminating, which need their time to cure. But I promise you, the reward is worth the wait.

The production time varies depending on the waiting list. Usually your paddle will be shipped in 6 to 10 weeks after your order has been placed and the full payment has been received. Contact me for information on the current waiting list.

 

Packaging, delivery and insurance costs are not included in the price of paddles, paddle hangers and wooden gift vouchers.

Packaging cost is approx. 30 EUR per paddle, 50 EUR per two.

Delivery cost varies from country to country. Please, contact me for a quote.

Insurance is recommended, just in case. Approx. 30 EUR per paddle, depending on the location of shipping.
